History of Agricoltori del Geografico wines

Agricoltori del Geografico was established by winegrowers from the historic Chianti Geografico area, between Radda in Chianti, Gaiole in Chianti, and Castellina in Chianti. From the very beginning, the cooperative was created to unite small producers, protect viticultural traditions, and improve quality through shared resources and expertise. In this way, it helped ensure that local winegrowers could remain competitive while at the same time preserving the character of Chianti wine.

The name “Geografico” highlights the strong link between the wines and their geographic origin, emphasizing terroir and regional heritage.

In 2018, the Piccini Family, one of Tuscany’s most important family-owned wine groups, acquired Agricoltori del Geografico. As a result, this marked a new chapter in the cooperative’s history, ushering in renewed investment, continuity of tradition, and a stronger presence for its wines on international markets.

The acquisition helped safeguard the future of the brand, ensuring financial stability while preserving its historic identity. Since then, under Piccini Family management, Agricoltori del Geografico has benefited from:

A Personal Connection to the Piccini Family

For me, the story of Chianti Geografico is deeply personal. I grew up in Tuscany, surrounded by the beauty of the Chianti hills and immersed in Tuscan winemaking culture. Interestingly, I went to school with one of the children of the Piccini family. This early connection would later play a key role in my professional life.

After moving to Switzerland, I co-founded a business focused on importing Italian wines and food. It was during this time that I reconnected with the Piccini family, turning our long-standing relationship into a fruitful business partnership. Together, we introduced wines from Chianti Geografico and other Piccini estates to new markets.

A New Chapter in Spain

Now, based in Spain, we continue to expand our wine business and work closely with the Piccini family to bring their wines to a wider audience. Spain’s rich winemaking culture complements our passion for Tuscan wines, and it feels like a natural extension of our journey.

While the landscape has changed, our commitment to quality and our ongoing relationship with the Piccini family remain unchanged.
